WAYNETOWN - Graveside services for Virgil A. Ballard are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery with the Rev. George Beatty officiating. Friends may call at the Thomas Funeral Home here after7 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Ballard died Saturday at Chico, Calif., where he had lived the past three years. He was a former resident of Crawfordsville. Services were conducted today at Chico.

Virgil A. Ballard

Services were held Wednesday afternoon in Chico, Calif., for Virgil A. Ballard, 67, a native of Putnam County, who passed away Saturday in a California hospital.

Mr. Ballard was born May 22, 1911, at Russellville, the son of Claude and Tillie Clodfelter Ballard.

He was a 1928 graduate of Russellville High School. He was a former representative for the Purina Feed Co. and worked as an insurance agent in Crawfordsville, where he had resided until 1975.

He was first married to Mary Randolph and later to Jean Harper of Crawfordsville, who survives. Other survivors include: A son, Jerry; three daughters Mrs. Martha Ulyatt, Remington;, Mrs. Sharon Beatty and Mrs. Norma Needham, both of Chico a brother, Ancil, Waynetown and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Ballard and Mrs. Bertell Murdock.
